Tryptone Bile Agar
Tryptone Bile Agar is recommnended for rapid detection and enumeration of Escherichia coli in food using a modified direct plating method. This medium is formulated by Anderson and Baird-Parker and recommended by ISO committee for rapid detection and enumeration of Escherichia coli from raw meats by direct plating method (DPM). The DPM enumerates both anaerogenic and latelactose fermenting strains of E. coli which could be missed by the MPN method.
