Eugonic Broth
Eugonic Broth is recommended for cultivation of fastidious microorganisms like Haemophilus, Neisseria, Pasteurella, Brucella and Lactobacillus species. It can also be used to grow Mycobacteria and various pathogenic fungi including Nocardia, Histoplasma and Blastomyces, when enriched with blood. Organisms proliferate in Eugonic Broth because large of high content of sulfur and carbon sources have been added in the formulation. The combination of high carbohydrate content and high sulfur (cystine) content improves growth with chromogenicity.
For the cultivation of fastidious microorganisms like Haemophilus, Nesseria, Pasteurella,Brucella and Lactobacillus species.
